Local students produce Doritos ad to support charity.
Portland, OR – November 16th, 2008 – brashCreative, The Art Institute of Portland ‘s student run creative agency recently lead the largest collaborative effort among their student body to create a 30 second commercial for this year’s Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest. Doritos called upon the public to create their very own Doritos Brand commercial – the concept, the production and the finished spot was left in the hands of the entrants.
Doritos will pick and award the top 5 entries with $25,000. Then it is up to the public to vote for their favorite and elect the winner. The winning commercial will get aired during the 2009 Super Bowl.
Here’s the breakdown.
• November 16th to January 4th – Entries are posted for viewing on crashthesuperbowl.com.
• January 5th – Doritos releases the top 5 entries.
• January 5th to January 25th – The public votes for their favorite entry from the top 5 at crashthesuperbowl.com.
• February 1st – The winning entry is aired during Super Bowl XLIII.
Doritos picks the top five commercials based on originality and creativity, adherence to creative assignment, and overall appeal. brashCreative needs your support. By viewing their entry you could help them secure a top 5 spot. If brashCreative is chosen in the top 5 they have decided to donate their cash prize to following charities: Pocket Change, INC., Children’s Healing Art Project and Muscular Dystrophy Association.
“At the start I saw this project as an amazing opportunity for brash to showcase its diverse talents. Our commercial rocks! But it’s the dedication and teamwork among us students that is something to be truly proud of,” said Kristin Postill, president of brashCreative. “Now all we can do is cross our fingers and hope that our efforts are rewarded with a top five spot.”
brashCreative was established in 2005 from the collaborative efforts of a few ambitious advertising students from The Art Institute of Portland. Since then, their agency has grown to include a dynamic flavor of creatives with diverse skills. They are passionate dedicated and capable. They work hard, take risks and produce kick ass solutions!
