you make statements that are not based on reality, just on assumptions..jay does respect his roots and family and mentions them frequently. he has no control of what edits people make on the interviews given to him when these kind of questions arise about his history.
also, you say he cares about fame and money? what is that statement based on? he is one of the few artists i know that put the MUSIC first and takes pride in his craft. he actually cares very little for those things you mention in reality.
also…it was alan sampson (who you didnt mention) that got to the “top” by producing amazing records like “ride it” and “stay” and “maybe”
its a shame that in the absence of information, that people are prone to “fill in the blanks” with assumptions on what THEY think someone is like. in this case you are wrong. but that is human nature….

when ur signed to such a big label theres alot of people that push you to be in a different direction..he is not his own manager..and if people ask he tells them hes south asian as he did in interviews..he tells them his real name..he just cant push it out there cause he is signed to a big label.
